Best Life Sciences Companies in Portugal
The 102 best Life Sciences companies in Portugal in 2026, ranked by funding and momentum. Funding, investors, founders, valuation, tech stack and live signals. Top: Adapttech.
Portugal's Life Sciences sector doesn't have a unicorn yet, but $32M in disclosed funding across 102 tracked companies tells you there's real capital moving here. Adapttech leads the pack at $7M, followed by Biopremier at $6M and iLoF at $5M, with Portugal Ventures and the EIC Fund showing up repeatedly as the backers keeping this ecosystem alive. The global market these companies are feeding into was valued at roughly $167.8B with a 10.2% CAGR, driven by an aging population and accelerating institutional funding. And globally, the momentum is visible: Sai Life Sciences' IPO push and Asahi Songwon's API acquisition both signal that consolidation and public markets are heating up across the sector.
So what does that mean for Portugal specifically? The funding base is modest but concentrated, which I'd argue makes it easier to spot who's genuinely building. Stemmatters and CellmAbs each sit at $2M, while Glooma is still early. European Union and PME Investimentos rounding out the investor list suggests public co-funding structures are doing a lot of the heavy lifting. The sector isn't flush, but it's directionally right.
