Life Sciences funding in Russia is thin but moving: 92 companies tracked, $69M in total disclosed capital, zero unicorns, and one name eating most of the room. Trekpor Technology has pulled in $43M, which dwarfs everything else on the list. Incuron sits at $6M, TheraMAB at $5M, and the rest cluster well below that. So what's actually drawing investor attention here? Hot themes are stem cell banking, cell-based therapies, diagnostic biotechnology, and gene delivery systems, and backers like Maxwell Biotech Group, RVC USA, and Rusnano are the ones writing the checks. Globally, the sector is tracking toward a market built on 10.2% CAGR growth, with aging populations and sustained funding pressure as the main drivers.

I'd watch the digital health signal too. Median install growth across life and health science apps is running at roughly +43% YoY, which tells you demand is real even where capital is sparse. Globally, moves like Sai Life Sciences' planned IPO and Asahi Songwon's API acquisition signal that the broader sector is consolidating fast. Russia's slice of that story is early-stage, concentrated, and worth tracking if you care where the next wave of biotech capital lands.

Incuron is engaged in developing a pipeline of drugs to treat oncology. Two molecules currently undergoing clinical development are CBL0102 and CBL0137. CBL0102 is structurally identical to an old antimalarial drug, quinacrine, widely used for the treatment and prophylaxis of malaria. CBL0102 is a potent inducer of p53 and inhibitor of NF-kB via FACT-suppressing activity which gives its anti-cancer properties. This led to the finding that CBL0102 is toxic to multiple types of cancer cells in vitro and in some mouse models of cancer. However peculiar bio-distribution of CBL0102 in vivo with maximal accumulation in liver and skin suggested its clinical use against cancers located in liver and skin (primary and metastatic).
