How to read Prism Explore
A public collection of special analysis: interactive reports for exploring evidence, and researched articles for following a question in depth.
Two formats, one source trail
Interactive reports organise research, news, companies and public actions around a problem. Research articles develop a narrative from cited studies, documents and recorded measurements. Each keeps its own measurement periods and source edition.
What the numbers mean
News counts measure recorded coverage. Research counts measure activity in the retrieved literature. Neither is a direct measure of physical severity, scientific quality or a solution’s effectiveness. Geographic tags can be incomplete, and multiple themes can describe the same record.
Source dates and publication dates
A page’s source edition identifies the underlying snapshot. Publication in Explore does not make historical numbers current. The report or chart states its own window; incomplete years and thin samples are labelled.
Findings, interpretation and gaps
Study findings retain their populations, methods and limits. Interpretation is separate from measured results. A missing record is not evidence that no activity occurred. Monetary extractions are not added into market or programme totals without supporting checks.
